The Town of Bentley is working with Associated Engineering to undertake a re-design of 50th Street (otherwise known as Dick Damron Drive) to a full urban standard between 50th avenue and 55th avenue. This includes improvement and replacement of aging roadway, sidewalks, and landscaping as well as utility infrastructure along this important corridor. We are at the beginning of the process and are looking at the functionality of the roadway and are looking for resident input to inform the functional design. A survey was issued to gather feedback to help inform that design and that survey is now closed. The input gathered will be utilized to finalize conceptual design and will help to determine order of magnitude cost estimates. This is a large project for Bentley and will take time to complete, the intention is to seek out grant funding to help support implementation of the project in future years.

The vision is for the corridor to become a gathering and entertainment district with enhanced streetscaping to improve the experience of residents and visitors. Our consultant is working to finalize the conceptual design package and it will be presented to Mayor and Council at a future public council meeting, once administration has had time to review the finalized concept plan.
